Adelanto’s best days are still ahead. Together, we can build a city where growth creates opportunity, government treats people with dignity, our young adults have pathways to success, and every taxpayer knows their City fought for every available dollar before asking them for one more.
Make a Contribution today to help Stevevonna become our next Mayor.
I’m a mother, woman of faith, community advocate, nonprofit founder, small-business owner, Democrat, and Adelanto City Councilwoman. My family has been in Adelanto since 1994 when my mother and grandparents bought the house that my mom still lives in today.
In 2013, I lost my daughter, Haven, to SIDS. There are moments in life that divide everything into before and after. Losing Haven was mine.
After I lost my daughter I committed myself to helping families dealing with life’s most difficult moments. We have many intersecting challenges in Adelanto. I’ve organized here, worked with non profits, and currently fight for our families while serving on the Adelanto City Council. I’m a mom to three amazing kids, an organizer, and a public servant. And I’m ready to get to work for you.
And now, I’m running to become your next Mayor of Adelanto.
Eight years later, I understand that calling even more clearly. I've served Adelanto as a Councilwoman, community advocate, nonprofit founder, organizer, and most importantly, as someone who calls this city home. I've seen what we're capable of when residents have a voice. I've also seen where we still have work to do.
Every resident deserves to be heard. Every person deserves dignity. Every conversation deserves civility. Every young adult deserves opportunity. And every taxpayer deserves a City that fights for every dollar before asking them for one more.
Adelanto’s best days are still ahead. Together, we can build a city where growth creates opportunity, our leaders protect our community, our young adults have pathways to success, and every taxpayer knows their City fought for every available dollar before asking them for one more.
Every person deserves dignity. Every conversation deserves civility.
Creating pathways to careers, trades, entrepreneurship, leadership and homeownership.
Making sure Adelanto receives every dollar we're entitled to before asking taxpayers for one more.
Growth should create real opportunity for the people who already call Adelanto home. The Adelanto Opportunity Agenda is a commitment to lead with dignity, civility, and fiscal responsibility while building stronger pathways for young adults ages 16–24 to pursue careers, skilled trades, entrepreneurship, leadership, and homeownership.
It also means fighting to secure every available dollar for Adelanto before asking local taxpayers to contribute more, ensuring City resources are managed responsibly and invested in the people, families, and future of our community.
GROWTH ISN’T ENOUGH. Our people should grow with it.
As City Councilwoman, I created the Adelanto Water Justice Coalition. This brought together residents, experts, advocates, and organizations together to ensure Adelanto has safe and clean water for everyone.
Advocated for policies and programs to improve interactions and maintain safety between law enforcement and residents. Including, establishing more transparency and accountability for those interactions.
When corporations and landlords abused existing, out-of-date ordinances to remove families from their homes, I challenged and successfully repealed these programs to ensure Adelanto families can stay in their homes.
I brought together residents & stakeholders to strengthen the oversight of our local cannabis industry. This gives both residents and businesses a voice as we continue to develop the best policies to help the industry grow, but not at our community's expense.

That's how growth becomes more than development. That's how growth becomes opportunity.
The measure of leadership isn’t simply what we announce.
It’s what changes because we did the work.

Founded the Adelanto Water Justice Coalition, bringing residents and experts together to identify solutions.

Worked to remove policies that created unnecessary barriers and advanced fairness, dignity and housing opportunity.

Supported accountability and community trust.

Initiated efforts to strengthen Adelanto's approach to vacant and neglected properties.

Worked to connect residents to employment, resources, civic participation and opportunities.

Consistently asked the questions residents deserve answers to and advocated for transparency.
.
ISN’T JUST A SLOGAN. It’s how I believe government should work.
It means putting residents before personalities. Solutions before political fights. Results before credit. And the future of our community before the next election.
It means asking questions because asking questions is part of the job. It means welcoming responsible businesses while protecting the community. It means pursuing growth without forgetting the neighborhoods and families already here.
That’s the Adelanto I believe in. And that’s the Adelanto I’m running for Mayor to help build.
Real change doesn’t happen because one person wins an election. It happens when people decide to build something together.
Whether you can knock doors, make phone calls, host a conversation, put up a sign, volunteer, contribute, or simply share our message, there’s a place for you in this campaign.
The Time Is Now.
Together, let’s build.
Together, let’s win.
